A road trip to Asheville, North Carolina resulted in this backstage interview with Rodney Crowell before his concert at the Diana Wortham Theatre. Rodney Crowell is a real storyteller – a great singer and songwriter with more than 40 years in the music business. He has released 17 studio albums, his newest record is an homage to his Lone Star roots and is simply called “Texas.” The record features such guests as Lee Ann Womack, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Ringo Starr, Billy Gibbons and others. Crowell is a 2-time Grammy award-winner. Some of the recording artists who have recorded Rodney Crowell’s songs include Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Bob Seger, Jimmy Buffett, John Denver, Etta James and George Strait. Crowell is inductee of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. It was a great honor to welcome Rodney Crowell on The Paul Leslie Hour. It was a long time coming!
