We’ve got a short interview with Jay Collins that was recorded backstage at Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia. It was broadcast on the radio in 2007 and this interview has been waiting until now to come out.

Jay Collins heads up the Jay Collins Band and was also the saxophonist for Gregg Allman and Friends.

Here’s what the late great Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band said about Jay Collins: “He has killer tone! Anybody who’s into a good smokin’ tenor sax- ya’ll in for a treat!”

Jay Collins is not just a saxophonist, but also a flutist, songwriter, and a very unique vocalist. Based out of New York state, he has a bit of the music from New Orleans in his sound, as well as classic rock, jazz, and blues. He has also traveled the world as a US Jazz Ambassador.
