Episode #215 – Charlie Midnight

Charlie Midnight is a songwriter, record producer, author and mentor. Midnight is responsible for the writing, conceptualization and production of albums throughout his career that have sold more than 50 million albums throughout his career. This interview recorded over the telephone was done a few years back and is being brought out for your listening enjoyment.

You want to talk about a versatile songwriter! He’s written songs recorded by an incredibly diverse number of artists. Probably one of the most popular songs he wrote was “Living in America” recorded by James Brown. Other artists who’ve recorded his songs include Cher, Britney Spears, Joe Cocker, Paul Stanley of Kiss, Dan Hartman, Chaka Khan, Katy Perry, Seal, the Doobie Brothers, Hilary Duff, Natalie Imbruglia, Jamey Johnson, Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, and artists like Billy Joel and Joni Mitchell who rarely record material other than their own. It was a great pleasure to conduct a rare interview with one of music’s most legendary songwriters, right here on The Paul Leslie Hour.
