Melissa Errico is an actress and singer of the Broadway stage. She has starred in Broadway musicals and is also a recording artist. This in-depth interview explored the release of Melissa Errico’s album Legrand Affair, a collection of songs composed by Michel Legrand. Michel Legrand was one of the greatest composers in the world as well as a songwriter, pianist, performing and recording artist. He passed away January 26, 2019 at 86 years of age. He wrote more than 200 scores for film and television as well as many popular songs like the iconic “The Windmills of Your Mind.” Some of the absolute greatest singers in history recorded his songs (Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, Sarah Vaughn).

This interview was recorded and broadcast in part to promote Melissa Errico’s album Legrand Affair. The album was produced by the late Phil Ramone and performed by Errico accompanied by a 100-piece symphony orchestra in Brussels. The album featured new material composed by Michel Legrand with lyrics by Alan and Marilyn Bergman specifically for Errico. As Errico says in this interview, in many ways the focus was not entirely on her. The album is almost like a duet of her and Michel Legrand. This interview is presented not only to give insight into Melissa Errico, a great singer…but, also to help us remember this exceptional composer – Michel Legrand.
